Earns Academic All-District For The First Time
CHESTERTOWN, MD – Washington College junior middle hitter Jenny Lee (Wilmington, DE/Mount Pleasant) has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District 2 NCAA Division III first team for volleyball. The Academic All-District teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This is the first time Lee has been named Academic All-District.
Lee, a two-time All-Centennial Conference honorable mention selection on the volleyball court, had 249 kills, 2.57 kills per set, 139 digs, 75 service aces, 63 blocks for Washington this season. She led the team in aces, blocks and solo blocks as she had 30 solo blocks. The junior was second on the team in kills and kills per set and tied for second on the team in assisted blocks with 33. Lee led the Centennial Conference service aces and aces per set (0.77) and ranked sixth in blocks. She was also named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year earlier this week. The Shorewomen volleyball squad finished 16-12 in 2011 and netted their first winning season since 1993.
Lee, an environmental studies major, currently has a 3.84 grade-point average.
District 2 of NCAA Division III covers student-athletes at institutions in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Rhode Island and West Virginia.
