    Four Washington College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team for fall sports. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each fall program who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship.

    Washington College junior middle hitter Jenny Lee has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District 2 NCAA Division III first team for volleyball. The Academic All-District teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This is the first time Lee has been named Academic All-District.

    Junior middle hitter Jenny Lee earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention status in a vote conducted by the conference’s volleyball head coaches. She was one of four Shorewomen to garner a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll joining senior outside hitter Alyssa Forget, sophomore outside hitter Emily Hoyle and sophomore setter Lauren White.

    Sophomore setter Lauren White had a triple-double with 12 kills, 27 assists and 12 digs as host Washington College downed visiting Catholic, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-15) in a non-conference volleyball match at the Cain Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon in the third and final match of a tri-match. The victory also clinched a winning season for the Shorewomen. In the first match of the day, visiting Franklin & Marshall topped host Washington, 3-0 (25-23, 30-28, 25-14) in a Centennial Conference volleyball match.

    Five new members of the Washington College Hall of Fame will be inducted Saturday night on the most action-packed induction Saturday in the Hall's history. Four teams will celebrate Senior Day and two home contests will benefit cancer research.

The Bears improve to 11-11 overall and 2-6 in conference action, while the Shorewomen drop to 14-10 and 1-6 respectively.

    Washington College took both matches against host Hood and Bryn Athyn at Gambrill Gym on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference volleyball tri-match hosted by Hood College. The Shorewomen downed Bryn Athyn, 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-10), in the first match and host Hood, 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-11) in the second match of the day. Washington is now 14-9 on the season.

    Visiting Washington College bounced back after losing the first set to post a 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18, win over host Dickinson College in a Centennial Conference volleyball match tonight in Carlisle, PA. With the win, the Shorewomen (12-9, 1-5 Centennial) snapped a 14-match losing streak to the Red Devils (3-15, 1-5).

Donations will be accepted on behalf of Tanner's Touch, a non-profit organization developed to raise money for pediatric cancer research and families of children with cancer.

    Washington split a pair of matches in a tri-match on Saturday afternoon at Shingleton Gym. The Shorewomen swept Mount Aloysius, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-16) in the second match of the day. In the first match of the day for Washington, the Shorewomen dropped a five-set decision to host Shenandoah, 3-2 (15-25, 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 12-15). The Shorewomen are now 7-2 on the season. Junior middle hitter Jenny Lee had a career-high 18 kills versus Shenandoah.

The Shorewomen beat host Wesley, 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-15), in the opening match, before topping Delaware Valley, 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22), in the second match. Washington is 6-1 now, its first six-match winning streak since winning seven in a row in 1988. It is also the squad’s second-best start ever as the 1978 team started 8-0.

The Shorewomen (3-1) opened the day with a 25-18, 25-14, 24-26, 25-23, victory over Mount Saint Vincent and then swept Penn State-Mont Alto, 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.
