    Washington College senior Rachel Martinez has been named the Centennial Conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the sport of women’s tennis. She has also been named Academic All-Centennial and is one of three student-athletes from her team to have qualified for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for spring sports.

    The visiting Washington College women’s tennis team topped host Franklin & Marshall, 8-1, in the regular-season finale for both teams today. With the win, the Shorewomen earned hosting rights for Wednesday’s Centennial Conference Tournament first round match - which will also be against F&M.

    Washington College doubles tandem Jordan Finnegan and Brittany Marshall are ranked 22nd in the nation in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association Women's Division III Rankings for the 2010 season. The duo is also ranked sixth in the Atlantic South region in doubles, while Finnegan is ranked 21st in the region in singles and the Shorewomen are ranked 15th in the region as a team.
