Samer Earns Singles Honor, Joins White for Doubles Distinction; Sanchez Named All-Sportsmanship
LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington College sophomore Ella Samer (Boise, Idaho/Boise) and freshman Alisha White (Silver Spring, Md./John F. Kennedy) have been named All-Centennial Conference in a vote conducted by the conference's 11 women's tennis head coaches. Samer was named to the second team for singles and joined White in picking up honorable mention in doubles. In addition, senior Hayley Sanchez (Milford, Conn./Jonathan Law) was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.
Samer went 12-6 in singles for the Shorewomen this year, including a 9-6 record at No. 2 in dual matches. She went 6-4 in conference play. Her 12 singles wins, nine dual-match singles wins, and six conference singles wins were all team-best marks.
Samer and White went 10-5 in doubles, all at No. 1, including a 6-4 mark in conference play. Both of those numbers were team-bests for any of the Shorewomen's doubles tandems this year.
Sanchez, a team captain, was named to the All-Sportsmanship for the second time in three years. She previously received the honor in 2017. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship for the All-Sportsmanship Team.
