Shorewomen Win at Two Doubles Spots, Four Singles Spots

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The host Washington College women's tennis team picked up its first dual-match win of the season this evening, topping visiting Goucher, 6-3, in a non-conference match inside Johnson Fitness Center.

- The Shorewomen won handily at the top two doubles spots. Alisha White and Ella Samer were 8-3 winners against Mandile Mpofu and Anais Gill at No. 1, while Cecilia Cress and Sarah Bruno topped Tes DeJaeger and Ali Gorson-Morrow, 8-1, at No. 2.
- Goucher picked up a win at No. 3 as Kyoko Kinoshita and Haddie Hill topped Mariah Thomas and Hayley Sanchez, 8-2. 

- Samer pushed the Shorewomen's lead to 3-1 with a 6-0, 6-1, victory over DeJaeger at No. 2, and White made the score 4-1 thanks to her 6-2, 6-3, win against Mpofu at No. 1.
- Bruno clinched the match win for the Shorewomen when she finished her 6-3, 6-0, win against Katie Marzerka at No. 4 and Cress quickly followed by completing her 6-0, 6-1, win against Hill at No. 3.
- Ali Tomasevich picked up a singles win for the Gophers at No. 5 with an 8-1 defeat of Thomas. Morgan Hartman picked up another with her 8-5 win over Sanchez at No. 6.

- The Shorewomen improved to 1-1 with the win, while the Gophers dropped to 3-2 with the loss.
