Shorewomen Blank Green Terror, 9-0

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College women's tennis team, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South region, improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in Centennial Conference matches with a 9-0 win over visiting McDaniel College today at Schottland Tennis Center. The Green Terror dropped to 1-6 and 0-3 with the loss.

Washington College 9, McDaniel 0

- Krista Filiopoulos and MP Hubert were 8-1 winners over Lindsay Russell and Leesa Malczewski at No. 2, while Julie Lazer and Rachel Martinez topped Winsome Schauer and Maddy Simmons at No. 1.
- McDaniel has only five players on its roster, thus the Green Terror defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. 

- Mariah Thomas picked up a 6-2, 6-2, win against Brenna Gutshall at No. 5 for the Shorewomen. Hubert followed with a 6-1, 6-0, victory at No. 4 and Filiopoulos finished a 6-0, 6-0, shutout of Malczewski at No. 3.
- Lazer's 6-1, 6-1, win against Simmons at No. 1 and Martinez's 8-0 blanking of Schauer at No. 2 completed the 9-0 Washington triumph.
