CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's tennis team will host its Centennial Conference semifinal match on Saturday, April 30th.
Due to the Johns Hopkins men's tennis team's 9-0 win over McDaniel today, Hopkins is now the top seed in both the men's and women's tournaments. The semifinals and championship of both tournaments are scheduled for April 30th and May 1st, respectively, with all of those matches normally hosted by the top seed. By conference rule, however, if the same school is the top seed for both tournaments and has fewer than 12 courts (as is the case with Hopkins), the number two seed in each tournament will host its own semifinal match on April 30th. The Shorewomen clinched the number two seed in the women's tournament with a 9-0 win at Gettysburg Sunday.
The Shorewomen's opponent in the match has not yet been determined, though Swarthmore can clinch the number three seed with a win over Haverford tomorrow.
