Portmann & Searles Win Individual Events for Shorewomen

LANCASTER, Pa. — Host Franklin & Marshall topped visiting Washington College, 177-85, in the Centennial Conference women's swimming opener for both schools tonight at Kunkel Aquatic Center. Julia Portmann and Alex Searles each won an individual event for the Shorewomen in the loss.

Shorewomen Highlights
- Portmann won the 200 freestyle for the Shorewomen in 2:01.23. She was also second in the 1000 freestyle in 11:01.19 and in the 500 freestyle in 5:25.38. Searles won the 200 breaststroke in 2:43.56.
- Alexa Luecke was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:01.97, Emily Homer placed second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:47.03, and Teresa Draves placed second in the 200 individual medley in 2:21.93.
- Anna Hall's third-place time of 1:00.95 in the 100 butterfly made her the Shorewomen's 10th-fastest swimmer ever in that event. 

- The Diplomats improved to 2-2 overall with the win, while the Shorewomen dropped to 0-3 with the loss.
