Clune Named Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. — Washington College junior swimmer Jenni Clune (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week ending December 4th. Clune won the 100 breaststroke in a school-record and Centennial Conference-record time at Randolph-Macon's Yellow Jacket Invitational, held Friday and Saturday.

Clune's winning time of 1:05.33 in the 100 breaststroke broke the school record of 1:05.82 set by Margaret Klag in 2004 and the Centennial Conference record of 1:05.41 set by Caroline Moyer of Gettysburg in 2016.  She was also third in the 100 freestyle in 53.03 to become the Shorewomen's third fastest swimmer ever in that event, and fourth in the 200 individual medley in 2:12.40. She led off the 200 freestyle relay with a 25.11 leg to tie for the Shorewomen's seventh spot on their all-time fastest list for the 50 freestyle.

Clune also swam on two second-place relay teams and one third-place relay team at the meet. The Shorewomen were second in both the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay in 1:50.88 and 3:35.12, respectively. The Shorewomen placed third in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.74.
