Goodchild, Howard, Maurizi Named Women's Swimming Captains

CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Rising seniors Emily Goodchild (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's), Alicia Howard (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington), and Ashley Maurizi (Reamstown, Pa./Cocalico) have been named captains of the Washington College women's swim team for the 2014-15 season. 

A versatile swimmer who has contributed in backstroke, freestyle, butterfly, and medley events, Goodchild was named to the Centennial Conference All-Sportsmanship Team in 2013. 

Howard is the Shorewomen's third-fastest swimmer ever in the 100 backstroke and ninth-fastest ever in the 200 backstroke and 50 freestyle. She was named the team's Most Improved Swimmer in 2013. 

Maurizi is one of the Shorewomen's top distance swimmers and has twice placed in the 1650 freestyle at Centennial Conference Championship meets.

The Shorewomen will open their 2014-15 season November 1st with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at Franklin & Marshall.
