Bears Get Better of Shorewomen, 151-108

Miskiel, Maxwell Win Two Events Each for Shorewomen in Loss

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -- Host Ursinus College defeated visiting Washington College, 151-108, in Centennial Conference women's swimming action this afternoon in Collegeville, Pa. The Bears remained undefeated in dual meets at 10-0 overall and 6-0 in conference meets with the victory, while the Shorewomen fell to 5-5 and 1-5 with the loss. 

Senior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events for Washington, taking the 100 in 1:10.81 and the 200 in 2:30.33. Freshman Ellen Maxwell (Towson, Md./Loch Raven) also won two events for Washington, taking the 1000 freestyle in 11:12.71 and the 200 individual medley in 2:19.44. Freshman Angelina Tomasura (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) win the 100 butterfly for the Shorewomen in 1:04.51. 

Senior Carly Ogren (Burke, Va./Lake Braddock) placed second in the 50 freestyle in 26.14 and in the 500 freestyle in 5:31.8. Freshman Megan Obarowski (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) added a second-place finish in the 200 butterfly in 2:22.04 and another in the 200 individual medley in 2:21.77, while freshman Jackie Creitz (Schencksville, Pa./Parkland) took second in the 200 backstroke in 2:23.17.

The Shorewomen close out their dual-meet schedule one week from today with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference meet at McDaniel.
