Shorewomen Compete at Franklin & Marshall Invitational

Miskiel Finishes in Top 12 of Two Events

LANCASTER, PA -- Sophomore Elizabeth Miskiel (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) recorded a pair of top 12 finishes to lead the Washington College women's swim team at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational today and yesterday in Lancaster, PA.

Miskiel placed seventh in the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.28 and 12th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.08.

Freshman Alicia Howard (Wilmington, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) scored points in two individual events for the Shorewomen and recorded three WC season-best times. She was 13th in the 200 backstroke in a WC season-best 2:19.08 and 16th in the 100 backstroke in a WC season-best 1:04.40.  She also posted a WC season-best time in the 200 individual medley, finishing 27th in 2:24.73.

Junior Sarah Sykes (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley-Demarest) placed 16th in the 1650 freestyle in 19:11.66.  She also swam a WC season-best time of 5:01.87 in the 400 individual medley to finish 22nd.

Junior Emma Jackovitz (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) turned in a WC season-best time of 1:07.88 in the 100 butterfly, finishing 30th.

The Shorewomen, who finished ninth of 10 team in the final team standings, return to action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. non-conference meet at Widener.
