CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College senior swimmer Rachel Glasser (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) will compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships beginning Wednesday in Knoxville, TN.
Glasser will compete in the 500 freestyle on Wednesday, the 200 freestyle on Thursday, and the 200 butterfly on Friday. Preliminaries will begin at 10:00 a.m. each day with the top eight swimmers in each event advancing to the "A" final and the next eight swimmers advancing to the "B" final. Finals will begin at 6:00 p.m. each day. A top-eight finish earns a swimmer All-America honors in the event. A finish of ninth through 16th earns a swimmer All-America honorable mention. Glasser is seeded seventh in the 500 freestyle, 14th in the 200 freestyle, and 10th in the 200 butterfly.
This will be Glasser's fourth consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships. Last year, she earned All-America honors in the 500 freestyle and 200 butterfly and All-America honorable mention in the 100 butterfly at the event. As a sophomore, she earned All-America status and a bronze medal in the 200 butterfly. In her first appearance at the NCAA Division III Championships as a freshman, she was an All-America honorable mention in the 200 butterfly.
