LANCASTER, PA - Twelve Washington College student-athletes have been named to the Centennial Conference's Academic Honor Roll for winter sports. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior; a starter or key reserve on his or her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. A key reserve is definied as a reserve who appeared in at least 50% of his or her team's contests.
The Washington College women's basketball team had four of its six non-freshmen land on the Honor Roll. Senior Jessica Jamrogowicz (Marlton, NJ/Bishop Eustace) earned the honor for the third year in a row. Senior Julie Sherwood (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Warde) made the list for the second straight year, while sophomores Meghan Tait (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) and Sally O'Donnell (Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) earned spots on the Honor Roll for the first time.
The women's swimming team also had four student-athletes qualify for the Honor Roll as sophomores Kelise Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest), Ellen Liebenow (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge), Jenna Moore (Catonsville, MD/Mount de Sales), and Morgan Phillips (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) each earned the distinction for the first time.
Three members of the men's swimming team landed on the Honor Roll for the first time - sophomores Ben Longwell (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen), Nick Longworth (Media, PA/Strath Haven), and Ross Mills (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch).
Sophomore Doug Holcombe (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) represented the men's basketball team on the Honor Roll.
