CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Five student-athletes from the Washington College women's lacrosse team have been named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. In addition, the Washington College women's lacrosse team is one 303 women's lacrosse teams from the NCAA and NAIA to be named a 2019 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade-point average of 3.50 or greater. 2019 graduate Caitlin Donovan (Baltimore, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) joins rising seniors Lauren Brenner (Glen Mills, Pa./Episcopal Academy), Kayla Catts (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional), Melissa Donato (West Chester, Pa./Reed Henderson), and Aubrey Robinson (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) in landing on the Academic Honor Roll. Donovan graduated with a degree in Sociology. Catts and Robinson are majoring in Economics, Donato in Business Management, and Brenner in Biology.
All five of the Shorewomen's Academic Honor Roll qualifiers started in 11 or more games and played in at least 17 of the team's 18 games this past season. Brenner and Robinson were both named to the All-Centennial Conference second team and Robinson went on to pick up IWLCA All-Metro Region second-team honors.
To qualify as an Academic Honor Squad, teams must have posted a 3.0 or higher team grade-point average for the academic year.
