Docktor Becomes Fifth-Ever Shorewoman Laxer to Earn Multiple All-Region Honors
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Washington College attacker Cecily Docktor (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) and midfielder Aubrey Robinson (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett) have been named to the All-Metro Region second team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Docktor, who graduated from the College yesterday, received the honor for the second year in a row. Robinson, who completed her junior year this spring, is a first-time All-Region selection.
Docktor becomes the fifth student-athlete in Washington College women's lacrosse history to earn All-Region honors multiple times. Betty Weller '03 and Emily Hubley '15 were three-time All-Region selections, while Amy Scarlett '97 and Maggy Kilroy '00 were the previous two-time selections. Docktor broke Hubley's single-season school record for draw controls this season, recording 101. She also led the team in assists (43) and points (70), was second in shots (87), was third in caused turnovers (17), and was tied for third in ground balls (26). She was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team for the second year in a row, marking her third consecutive All-Centennial honor (honorable mention in 2017).
Robinson led the Shorewomen with 10 free-position goals this season and was third in total goals with 36. She also added three assists and 21 draw controls. She was named to the All-Centernnial Conference second team.
Docktor and Robinson helped lead the Shorewomen to a 12-6 overall record this season and a 7-2 mark in Centennial Conference play. The Shorewomen advanced to the Centennial Conference Tournament for the ninth year in a row and to the Centennial Conference semifinals for the second year in a row. The Shorewomen have reached at least the semifinals of that tournament eight times in the past nine years.
