Shorewomen Lacrosse Makes Season Debut in IWLCA Poll

GRAND LAKE, Colo. — This week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Top 25 has been released and the Washington College women's lacrosse team has made its season debut in the poll.

The Shorewomen replace Haverford, last week's 25th-ranked team, in the poll. Washington scored an impressive road win at Haverford on Wednesday by a convincing 16-11 final to clinch a Centennial Conference Tournament berth. The Shorewomen then gave conference front-runner Franklin & Marshall, ranked fifth last week, all it could handle on Saturday as Washington held a second-half lead before eventually falling, 12-9.

Washington, which will finish as no lower than the third seed for the conference tournament, hosts Swarthmore this Wednesday and fourth-ranked Gettysburg this Saturday to conclude the regular season. The game against Gettysburg may very well serve as a Centennial Conference semifinal preview as the Shorewomen and Bullets are currently tied for second place in the conference standings.
