Shorewomen Hold Rhode Island College Without a Shot in 17-0 Win

Hubley Reaches Milestones in Victory

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Washington College women's lacrosse team recorded its fourth-ever shutout and held an opponent to no shots for the first time in program history as the Shorewomen jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead in a 17-0 win over Rhode Island College today at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. 

The Shorewomen (2-1) scored their 14 first-half goals on just 17 shots, then took just five shots while scoring three second-half goals. 

Senior midfielder Emily Hubley (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) scored four goals in the game, becoming the Shorewomen's sixth all-time leading point-getter with 190, passing Corinne Ziccardi '13, in the process. Ziccardi had 189 career points. She also upped her career goal total to 152, becoming the sixth player in school history with at least 150. 

Sophomore midfielder Alli Dudley (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) added a team-best five total points in the win on two goals and a team-best three assists. Freshman midfielder Rachael Shaw (Bechtelsville, Pa./Boyertown) netted a career-high three goals, while enior attacker Caroline Lovett (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) and junior attacker Carley Kendall (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton Area) had two goals and one assist each. Freshman attacker Morgen Moran (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) scored two goals, while senior attacker Catherine Stanley (Freeland, Md./Hereford) had one goal and one assist. Sophomore attacker Katherine Vincent (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) scored once and sophomore midfielder Daniela Falcone (Potomac, Md./Connelly School of the Holy Child) assisted on a goal.

The Shorewomen's ride prove troublesome for the Anchorwomen (0-2) all afternoon as Rhode Island College managed just one successful clear in 13 attempts. The Shorewomen also controlled 14 of the game's 19 draws, including 12 of 15 in the first half.

Washington's previous three shutouts all came against conference opponents. The most recent was a 23-0 win at Bryn Mawr on April 10, 2013. 

The Shorewomen return to action eight days from now when they host eighth-ranked Trinity (Conn.) at 7:00 p.m.
