Liebig Named Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Washington College head women's lacrosse coach Julika Blankenship has announced the hiring of Juli Liebig as an assistant coach on the Shorewomen's staff.  Liebig, who attended nearby Queen Anne's County High School, was a star goalie at Longwood University.

A team captain as a senior, Liebig was named the National Lacrosse Conference's Goalie of the Year twice in her four years and was an all-conference first-team selection. She finished her senior season ranked first in her conference and 16th in all of Division I in save percentage (.470), 13th in all of Division I in total saves (158), and ninth in Division I in ground balls per game (3.17). She helped her team to back-to-back conference championships as a sophomore and junior and was presented with Longwood's Scholarly Athlete Award.

Liebig has gained valuable coaching experience while working with Merestead Sports Camps for the past four years and also took coaching classes at Longwood, where she was a member of the Exercise Science Association and the Historian of the Kinesiology fraternity Phi Epsilon Kappa. She earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from the school in 2011.

While attending Queen Anne's County High School, Liebig was a two-time recipient of the Queen Anne's Master of All Sports, earned first-team All-Bayside Conference honors, and helped lead her team to an East Region Championship. She also participated in basketball, soccer, and swimming at Queen Anne's.
