Women's Basketball to Hold "Pink Game" on February 6th

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College women's basketball team will hold its annual "Pink Game" February 6th when the Shorewomen host Swarthmore at 6:00 p.m.

Proceeds from this year's "Pink Game" will go to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC²), a non-profit organization that has provided more than $16 million in research funding since 2001 to highly qualified researchers and physician-scientists from 42 institutions including: the National Cancer Institute, Faster Cures, The V Foundation for Cancer Research, and the National Brain Tumor Society.

The Shorewomen will be selling t-shirts at the game to raise funds and are accepting donation pledges for every made free throw or every made three-pointer throughout the course of the game.

Also, fans at the game can text "ABC2" to 20222 to make a donation of $10. After sending the text, fans will need to reply yes to the follow-up text-message. A confirmation text message will then be delivered. Each person can text a donation up to five times. Donations will be added to their cell phone bill.

All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.

For more information about the game, or to donate, contact head coach Megan Duran at 410-810-7462 or [email protected]. For more information on ABC², please visit http://abc2.org.
