Kile, Mattox Score in Doubles Figures for Shorewomen in Loss

GETTYSBURG, PA -- Host Gettysburg College defeated visiting Washington College, 66-48, in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game this afternoon in Gettysburg, PA. Caitlin Moser scored 20 points in the win for the Bullets.

Gettysburg (8-3 overall, 3-3 Centennial) held a 33-24 lead at halftime after using a 9-0 spurt, capped off by a Julie McGrory jumper, to build a 27-17 advantage with 3:52 left in the period. The Bullets opened the second half with a 10-2 run to increase their lead to 43-26 on a jumper by Moser with 16:09 remaining. Gettysburg led by at least 14 points the rest of the way.

McGrory and Sara Kinsley each scored 10 points to join Moser in double figures. Gettysburg shot 46% from the field, held a 37-32 advantage on the boards, and forced 19 turnovers while committing just eight.

Sophomore center Erin Kile (Benton, PA/Benton) led the Shorewomen with 14 points, while freshman guard Claire Mattox (Arlington, VA/Potomac School) added a career-high 11. Freshman forward Erin Fitzgerald (Greensboro, NC/Bishop McGuiness) tallied eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the loss.

The Shorewomen (3-8, 1-5) return to action Tuesday with a 6:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Johns Hopkins.
