First Time Recipient of Award
LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore goalie Chris Del Rosario (Springfield, Va./Bullis School [Md.]) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse for the week of February 11-17 by the conference office. It is the first time that Del Rosario has won the conference's weekly award.
Del Rosario set a career-high with 21 saves in his first career start in the Shoremen's 21-12 season opening win over Berry. He stopped 21-of-31 shots he faced for a .677 save percentage in 53:54 of action. He made six saves in the first quarter where he did not allow a goal and made 10 saves in the first half as Washington took a 12-3 lead into halftime.
He is the first Washington player to win the conference's defensive player of the week award in men's lacrosse since Ben Flood '18 earned the award on March 12, 2018.
