Notched 12 Points on Eight Goals and Four Assists in 2-0 Week For Washington
LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior attackman Casey Grieves (Easton, Md./Sts. Peter and Paul) has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week in men's lacrosse for the week of March 26-April 1. This is the second time this season and in his career that Grieves has won the conference's weekly award as he won it for the first time on February 19.
Grieves scored eight goals and added four assists for 12 points in a 2-0 week for the Shoremen. He tallied career-highs of six goals and 10 points in Washington's 16-8 win at McDaniel on Saturday as he tied his personal-best in assists with four. Grieves factored in Washington's first five goals, assisting on the first three and scoring the last two and then capped the team's 7-0 first quarter with a goal to give him three goals and assists in the first. Eight (five goals and three helpers) of his 10 points came in the first half as the Shoremen took a 10-2 lead into halftime. The junior added a goal and assist in the second half as the Shoremen led by as many as 12 at 14-2. On Wednesday in the team's 13-12 victory at Ursinus, he scored two goals, including the goal that ignited a 10-2 run that turned a 7-2 deficit in the second quarter into a 12-9 lead in the third.
