Red Devils Overcome Slow Start To Down Shoremen, 15-7

McManus Scores Twice For Washington

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Dickinson used a 13-1 run to turn an early 3-1 deficit into a 14-4 lead on its way to a 15-7 win over visiting Washington College at Biddle Field in a Centennial Conference men's lacrosse game on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
-Washington scored three of the game's first four goals to take a 3-1 lead with 8:44 to go in the first quarter on a tally by Nick Boyles.
-Dickinson answered with three consecutive goals of its own in the final 2:20 of the first to take a 4-3 lead after the first quarter.  Rob Kendall's second goal of the quarter with one second left gave the hosts the lead after one.
-The Shoremen evened the game 1:40 into the second quarter on a goal by Kevin Trapp.  The game would go to halftime at 4-4.
-Deegan Beauchamin scored 1:19 into the third quarter on a shot from the left side to put Dickinson ahead 5-4 and it ignited a 6-0 third for the hosts.  Kendall capped the six-goal outburst with 21 ticks left to make it 10-4 after three.  Tucker Carney scored twice in the third, while Chris Menard had a goal and an assist in the quarter.
-The Red Devils outscored the Shoremen in the fourth quarter by a 5-3 margin to provide the final margin.

-Washington went 13-for-16 in clears and did not score on any of its three man-up chances.

-Scoring: Menard (game-highs of four assists and six points, two goals), Kendall (game-high three goals and four points), Carney (two goals and one assist), Connor Haab and Tyler Llewellyn (two goals), Will Trevenen (goal and assist), Dylan Maher (goal), Tyler Strods (goal), Beauchamin (goal), Chase Phillips (assist), Kobi Frankel (assist), Greg Shidkrout (assist)
-In Goal: Nick Baxter (55:00, seven saves, four goals allowed)
-The Red Devils went 19-for-21 in clears, while not scoring in either of their man-up opportunities.
-Dickinson won 12 of the 23 face-offs in the game, had a 42-28 edge in shots and 30-21 in ground balls. 
-Andy Grabis had five ground balls to lead all players.

-Today marked the final regular season road game for Washington.
-The Shorewomen had 15 turnovers in the game, while the Red Devils committed 12.
-Dickinson had four face-off violations in the game, while Washington had one.
