Third All-America Honor for Face-Off Specialist
PERRY, N.Y. -- Recently graduated Washington College men's lacrosse face-off specialist Michael Trapp (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) has been named an All-America honorable mention by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), giving him three All-America honors in the past three years.
Trapp went 177-for-278 (63.7%) on face-offs this season, leading the Centennial Conference in both face-off wins and face-off winning percentage. His 92 ground balls also led the Centennial Conference and he added four goals and one assist for good measure. He ranked 20th in all of Division III in face-off winning percentage.
Trapp was named a second-team All-American a year ago and a third-team All-American as a sophomore. Yesterday, he was named a USILA Scholar All-American. He is the first Shoreman to earn All-America honors three times since Chris Read '08. Read was an honorable mention in 2006 and 2007 and was named to the second team in 2008.
