Young Scores 11 to Lead Shoremen; Porteous and Wright Each Net 10

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg got a game-best 21 points from Nate Henty Brown in a 78-68 win over visiting Washington College on Wednesday night in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game at Memorial Hall.  The Mules improve to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen drop to 4-6 and 0-4 respectively.

How It Happened
- The Mules jumped out to an 8-2 lead just 3:23 into the first half following a basket by Henty Brown.
- Washington would respond with an 8-0 run of its own to grab a 10-8 lead with 12:17 left in the half on a Logan Bunch layup.
- Muhlenberg then scored the next 11 points to take a 19-10 advantage with 7:46 remaining on a Matt Gnias three-pointer.  Spencer Duke gave the Mules the lead for good with 9:25 to go in the first on a layup at 12-10.
- The Mules took a 28-15 lead with 3:46 remaining in the half on a Dan Gaines lay-in before the Shoremen closed out the first on a 7-0 run to cut the hosts' lead to 28-22 at halftime.  Josh Porteous capped the first half scoring with a three at beat the buzzer.
- In the second half, Muhlenberg used an 18-8 run to turn a 37-31 lead into a 55-39 edge with 11:25 to go in the contest on a triple by Michael Morreale.
- The Mules would take their biggest lead of the night of 20 points, 63-43, with 7:53 to go on a Henty Brown three.
- Washington outscored Muhlenberg 25-15 the rest of the way to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (4-6, 0-4 CC)
- Benjamin Young (11 points), Porteous and Tray Wright (10 points), Austin Allen (seven rebounds)
- The Shoremen shot 39% (23-for-59) from the floor, 29% (5-for-17) from three-point range and 71% (17-for-24) from the foul line. 
- Washington had 12 turnovers in the contest. 
- WC outscored Muhlenberg in bench points (40-8), points off turnovers (17-10), second chance points (13-10) and points in the paint (22-18).

For Muhlenberg (5-3, 3-1 CC)
- Henty Brown (game-high 21 points), Morreale (20 points), Gnias (10 points and seven rebounds), Gaines (10 points and eight assists)
- The Mules shot 45% (24-for-53) from the floor, 50% (15-for-30) from three-point range and 75% (15-for-20) from the free throw stripe. 
- Muhlenberg outrebounded Washington, 37-31.
- The Mules had 17 turnovers in the game.

Notes
- Young scored his Washington College high this evening with 11 points.  His career-high came with McDaniel on December 9, 2017, when he scored 16 points versus Goucher.
