Lauren Leukhardt-Hardesty joined the Shorewomen's coaching staff during the summer of 2010. A successful scholastic and club coach, Leukhardt-Hardesty came to Chestertown following a five-year stint as the head coach at Southern High School in Harwood.
While at Southern, Leukhardt-Hardesty was named the 2007 Capital Gazette Coach of the Year after leading her alma mater to a winning record despite starting the season with just 13 players. In 2009, she served on both the Maryland All-State Game Committee and the Maryland Coach of the Year Committee.
Leukhardt-Hardesty's coaching experience also includes serving as the head coach of the MD United Indoor Field Hockey Club, co-coach of The Gaels Field Hockey Club at the 2010 Disney Showcase, and Co-Coach of Team Maryland at the 2007 and 2008 National Field Hockey Festivals.
A three-sport athlete at Arcadia University, Leukhardt-Hardesty earned All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) and All-PAC Academic Team honors while participating in field hockey, lacrosse, and swimming. She continues to be active in competitive athletics, playing for the Black Eyed Susans club field hockey team and participating in SOBO Sports (co-ed kickball, football, and softball) and in the Anne Arundel County Women's Summer League for field hockey.
Leukhardt-Hardesty earned a B.A. in Spanish from Arcadia in 2005, minoring in Communications. At Washington College, she is specializing in instructing the team's goalkeepers.
