• Barclay & Zwier Named All-Region by ABCA

    Washington College baseball student-athletes Aaron Barclay and Ryan Zwier have been named to the Mid-Atlantic American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Region Teams. Barclay was named to the first team as a third baseman, while Zwier was named to the second team as a catcher.

    Washington College baseball student-athletes Ryan Zwier and Aaron Barclay have been named All-Mid-Atlantic Region by D3Baseball.com. Zwier became the first Shoreman to ever be named to the web site's All-Region first team, while Barclay became the first to be named to the web site's second team.

Senior third baseman Aaron Barclay and junior catcher Ryan Zwier were named to the first team, while senior second baseman Luke D’Ostilio was tabbed as an honorable mention.

    CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The host Washington College baseball team closed out a strong 2019 season with a 5-2 win over visiting Haverford in a Centennial Conference baseball game played today at Athey Park in Chestertown, Maryland. The win gives the Shoremen 28 wins this season, tying the 2012 team for the most wins in a single season in program history.
  • Washington Erupts for 16 Runs in 16-1 Game Two Win after Holding Off Ursinus in Opener, 6-4, for DH Sweep

    Visiting Washington College swept host Ursinus in a Centennial Conference baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Thomas Field in the season’s final two road contests for the Shoremen in 2019.  The Shoremen held off a bottom of the ninth inning rally by the Bears in game one to prevail 6-4 and exploded for 16 runs in a 16-1 second game triumph.  The game one win was head coach Cory Beddick’s 100th career victory.

    Host Washington College and visiting Muhlenberg split a Centennial Conference doubleheader on Saturday at afternoon Athey Baseball Park.  In game one, the Shoremen took a 2-0 lead two batters into the game and never trailed on their way to an 8-5 victory and in game two the Mules raced out to a 3-0 lead and held off a rally from the Shoremen to win 3-2.

The Shoremen won the first game, 10-3, but dropped the second, 17-6. Junior Ryan Zwier picked up his 100th career hit for the Shoremen with a triple in the second game.

    Host Gettysburg captured both ends of a Centennial Conference baseball doubleheader against visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon Kirchoff Field.  The Bullets scored four times in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie en route to a 7-5 victory in game one and in game two, Gettysburg scored 10 unanswered runs on its way to a 10-4 win.  With his six hits in the doubleheader, senior Aaron Barclay is now in 10th place all-time in career base hits at WC.

    Host Washington College split a Centennial Conference doubleheader against visiting #4 Swarthmore on Saturday at afternoon Athey Baseball Park.  In game one, the Garnet jumped out to an 8-0 lead on their way to an 11-3 win, while in game two, the Shoremen used a seven-run bottom of the fifth inning to turn a 3-1 deficit into an 8-3 lead as they came away with a 13-9 victory.  The Shoremen improve to 18-3 overall, picked up their first win against a top four ranked team since 2013.

    Host Washington College swept a non-conference doubleheader against visiting Penn College of Technology on Saturday at afternoon Athey Baseball Park.  The Shoremen took game one, 1-0, behind a 12-strikeout, three-hit performance from sophomore pitcher Mike Smith and rallied from 9-5 down to win, 10-9, in game two with a two-run, two-out home run in the bottom of the sixth inning from junior Ryan Zwier being the go ahead hit.  The Shoremen improve to 16-1 overall, their best mark after 17 games in team history, while the Wildcats drop to 2-8.
