CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Washington College senior pitcher P.J. Mikulus (Plainview, N.Y./Chaminade) has been named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division III Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention for the week ending April 15th. Mikulus pitched the 16th no-hitter in Centennial Conference history and first nine-inning no-hitter for the Shoremen in 48 years during the Shoremen's 7-0 win in the first game of a double-header sweep of Dickinson Saturday.
Roberti's gem completed a double-header sweep for the Shoremen over the Bison. He faced just three batters over the minimum - all of whom reached via errors - while allowing no hits and no walks in seven innings. He retired the final 13 batters of the game, in order, and struck out four batters in the contest.
Mikulus, who was also named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week and was named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week, retired the first 13 and the last 14 batters he faced with only a fielding error in the fifth preventing a perfect game. He struck out seven in posting the second no-hitter this season by a Washington College pitcher, joining Nick Roberti, who tossed a seve-inning no-hitter in a 13-0 win over Bethany on March 16th. Like Mikulus, Roberti was also named the NCBWA Division III Pitcher of the Week Honorable Mention.
