FAIRBANKS, Alaska — Washington College outfielder Bryan Baquer (Woodbridge, Va./Osbourn Park), who graduated from the school on Saturday, has been named an All-Mid Atlantic Region third-team selection by D3Baseball.com.
Baquer, who picked up his second consecutive All-Centennial Conference first-team honor and fourth All-Centennial honor overall earlier this month, had an outstanding senior season for the Shoremen, hiting a team-best .415 with four home runs and 25 RBI.
In addition to batting average, he led the team in walks (25), stolen bases (10), triples (5), total bases (82), on-base percentage (.525) and slugging (.667). He tied for the team lead in runs (31) and was second on the team in hits (51) and doubles (9). His four homers was one off the team lead. He led the Centennial Conference in slugging (.667) and was second in the conference in batting and on-base percentage and tied for fourth in triples and walks.
Baquer is the first Shoreman to earn All-Region honors since 2012. That year, Ryan Normoyle was named to the second team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and to the third team by D3Baseball.com, while Shane Mattingly was named to the third team by the ABCA.
