Bryan Baquer Tabbed as Captain of Shoremen Baseball
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Washington College head baseball coach Matt Reynolds has named senior outfielder Bryan Baquer (Woodbridge, Va./Osbourn Park) as the captain of the Shoremen for the 2016 season. This is the first time Baquer is serving as captain of the Shoremen Nine.
Baquer, a three-time All-Centennial Conference selection, was a first team pick in 2015. He hit a career-best .369 to lead the Shoremen and in conference play he hit .422. The senior also led the team with a .418 on-base percentage and a .488 slugging percentage, while tying for the team lead in stolen bases with six. In the field, he did not commit an error in 65 chances in the field. He is a .351 career hitter with 136 (eighth in program history) and has stolen 47 bases.
The Shoremen will open the 2016 season at home on February 27 against New Paltz at 1:00 p.m.
