LANCASTER, PA – Washington College sophomore outfielder Sean Connole (Mt. Airy, MD/St. John's Catholic) has been named the Centennial Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week the ending on April 3 by the conference office.
Connole batted a team-best .500 for the week (11-for-22) along with a team-best .542 on-base percentage and tying for tops on the squad with four RBI. The sophomore had a 7-for-10 doubleheader against Ursinus on April 2. In the second game, he drove in the walk-off run on an RBI single to right field to give Washington a 6-5 win in the 11th inning and the sweep, the first for WC against Ursinus since 2001. In the first game, he was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored in a 5-3 win. At Widener on March 30, he had a career-high three RBI and recorded a 3-for-5 afternoon from the plate.
This is the first time he has won the conference's player of the week and the third Shoreman to win the player of the week award this year.
