CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- The Washington College men's and women's swim teams have each been awarded Team Scholar All-America status for the Fall 2013 semester by the College Swimming Coaches Association. To qualify for the award, the team must finish with a team grade-point average of at least 3.0 for the fall semester.
The Shoremen tied with Catholic University, Bates College, and Case Western Reserve University for 11th among all Division III men's teams with a 3.39 grade-point average for the fall semester. The Shoremen had the second-highest grade-point average among Centennial Conference men's teams. Swarthmore College, which was tied for second among all Division III men's teams with a 3.50 grade-point average, had the highest among Centennial men's teams.
The Shorewomen tied with McDaniel College and Connecticut College for 15th among all Division III women's teams with a 3.49 grade-point average for the fall semester. Washington and McDaniel carried the two highest grade-point averages among Centennial Conference women's teams.
