Swimming Triathlon Raises $1900 for Cancer Research

CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College men's and women's swim teams held their annual triathlon for cancer research on Saturday, October 6th, and raised over $1900. 

The event consisted of a 1,000-yard swim, 10-mile bike ride, and two-mile run. The top female finisher was freshman Julianna Fritzinger (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion Area). Junior Ellie Miskiel (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) was the second female, followed by senior Allison Kvien (Mechanicsville, MD/Chopticon). Junior Tad Derrick (Virginia Beach, VA/First Colonial) was the top male finisher, followed by sophomore Greg Lee (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) and freshman DJ Bradshaw (Reisterstown, MD/Calvert Hall), respectively.

The money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
