CHESTERTOWN, Md. — National Girls & Women in Sports Day will be celebrated at Washington College on Saturday, February 2nd with a free event open to girls in grades two through eight. The day will include an instructional sports clinic (featuring soccer, field hockey, and rowing), lunch in the College's Hodson Dining Hall, and the opportunity to cheer on the Washington College women's basketball team during the Shorewomen's home game against Franklin & Marshall.
The clinic will run from 10 a.m. until noon inside the field house at the College's Johnson Fitness Center and will give participants the opportunity to interact and play sports with collegiate female athletes. Lunch will follow at 12 p.m. and participants are invited to stay for the Washington College women's basketball game against Franklin & Marshall College at 1 p.m. inside Cain Athletic Center. Pre-registration is required.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day, which falls on February 6th, is "a national observance celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports."
