Junior volleyball player Kaitlyn Marino (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) is this week's Shorewoman of the Week. Marino was named the Most Valuable Player at the season-opening DeSales Invitational, where the Shorewomen went 4-0 Friday and Saturday to capture the championship.
Marino averaged 3.08 kills (hitting .203) and 2.85 digs per set at the tournament. She had 11 or more kills in each of the Shorewomen's final three matches of the tournament, including 13 (to go along with 15 digs) in a five-set win over DeSales that would prove to be the difference between first and second place.
This is Marino's fourth career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
