5, 2008 GETTYSBURG, PA -- The Washington College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the first day of the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic at Gettysburg College on Friday. The Shorewomen fell to Eastern in their first match, 25-12, 25-12, 25-12, and Randolph-Macon in their second match, 25-9, 25-12, 25-15. Junior setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) had 14 assists against Eastern, while senior outside hitter Chelsea Crum (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) tallied eight digs. Senior libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) recorded a team-high 14 digs against Randolph-Macon, while Ward had 13 assists. Tomorrow at the Battlefield Classic, the Shorewomen will play John Jay at 10:00 a.m. and Catholic at 12:00 p.m. |
