O'Brien's 20 Kills Lead WC Past Bears
Shorewomen Pick Up First Centennial Win of the Season

COLLEGEVILLE, PA -- Senior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) pounded down 20 kills and recorded 17 digs as visiting Washington College picked up its first Centennial Conference win of the season tonight as the Shorewomen volleyball team swept Ursinus, 30-25, 33-31, 30-25. The Shorewomen improved to 9-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the win, while the Bears fell to 5-13 and 1-6 with the loss.

O'Brien's 20 kills represented the sixth time in the last seventh matches that the senior captain posted at least 20 kills in a match. She is averaging 6.15 kills per game over that span.

Sophomore setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) added 42 assists in the win for the Shorewomen, while junior libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) and junior outside hitter Chelsea Crum (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) recorded 12 and 11 digs, respectively.

The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Gettysburg.
