2007 CARLISLE, PA -- Senior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) recorded her 17th double-double of the season with team-highs of 18 kills and 17 digs, but it was not enough as Dickinson swept Washington College, 3-0 (31-29, 30-27, 30-25), at the Kline Center this afternoon in a Centennial Conference volleyball match. With the victory, Dickinson (11-15, 6-4 CC) clinches a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The Shorewomen finish the season 10-15 overall and 2-8 in conference play. O'Brien finishes her career with 1,127 kills and 1,030 digs. She joins Katie Bierzonski as Shorewomen who have achieved a 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. For the Red Devils, Elitsa Gosheva led the squad with 14 kills and added 11 digs to record a double-double. Chelsea Winkert added 10 kills in the win. Amanda Lehn led all players with 39 assists, and added 10 digs for a double-double. Amanda Hayes had a team-best 15 digs. Washington sophomore setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) had a team-best 28 assists in the contest. Junior libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) had 13 digs, while freshman defensive specialist Traci Daelemans (Tracys Landing, MD/Southern) had a career-high nine digs. Two Shorewomen, O'Brien and senior defensive specialist Mallory Kurtz (Willow Grove, PA/St. Basil Academy) had their careers come to a close today. |
