15, 2007 READING, PA -- The Washington College volleyball team swept three teams at at quad match hosted by Penn State-Berks Saturday. The Shorewomen (5-5) opened the day with a 30-13, 30-26, 30-15, win over Delaware Valley in their first match. Washington then bested Arcadia, 30-23, 30-21, 30-17, and swept Penn State-Berks, 30-18, 30-24, 30-9. Against Delaware Valley, senior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) notched 13 kills, while freshman outside hitter Lauren Feeny (Upper Darby, PA/Villa Maria Academy) added 11 kills. Sophomore setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) served eight aces to go along with 35 assists. Junior libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) tallied 20 digs for Washington. In the win over Arcadia, O'Brien tallied a double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs, while Feeny pounded down 14 kills. Ward finished with 40 assists and Brown scooped out 16 digs. Against Penn State-Berks, O'Brien pounded down 12 kills, while Brown had 12 digs. Ward finished with 24 assists. Junior outside hitter Chelsea Crum (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) served eight of the Shorewomen's 16 aces in the match. The Shorewomen return to action Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home match against nationally-ranked Haverford. |
