2006 DOVER, DE -- Senior middle hitter Nanna Kozemchak (Falls Church, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) tallied a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs as the Washington College volleyball team improved to 5-16 with a 30-27, 30-24, 30-21, sweep of host Wesley College tonight in Dover, DE. The Wolverines (5-13) led game one, 26-24, before Washington finished the game on a 6-1 run. The Shorewomen led game three by as many as 10 points. Junior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) tallied 13 kills and served five aces for the Shorewomen, while freshman setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) put up 32 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Crum (Newark, DE/Charter School of Wilmington) added eight digs, while Kozemchak and junior defensive specialist Mallory Kurtz (Willow Grove, PA/St. Basil Academy) each served two aces. Washington College is back in action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference match at Ursinus. |
