2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior outside hitter Jess Anselmi led all players with 19 kills and as Muhlenberg downed Washington College, 3-1 (22-30, 30-20, 30-26, 30-23), on Saturday afternoon at the Cain Athletic Center in Centennial Conference volleyball action. It was the season finale for both squads. Sophomore setter Megan Eiser led the Mules (10-15, 4-6 CC) with 35 assists, while junior setter Tiffany Elliott chipped in with 15. Eiser and junior libero Megan Young each led Muhlenberg with 19 digs. Senior middle hitter Kate Haggerty racked up 11 kills. For the Shorewomen (6-20, 2-8 CC), senior middle hitter Nanna Kozemchak (Falls Church, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) led the team a match-high 21 digs. She recorded her 1,000th dig on the final point of the second game and finishes her Washington College career with 1,014 kills. The 21 digs ties her personal best, which she has accomplished four times. Sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Crum (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) registered a double-double with 14 digs and 10 kills. Junior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) registered a team-high 18 kills. Freshman setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) dished 42 assists. Sophomore libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) chalked up 11 digs. |
