2006 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior outside hitter Natalia Fijalkowski posted a double-double with 13 kills and tied for the team-high in digs with 11 as Johns Hopkins snapped Washington College's three match winning streak, 3-0 (30-24, 30-23, 30-27), on Wednesday evening at the Cain Athletic Center in Centennial Conference volleyball action. Senior outside hitter Laura Carrihill had a team-high 14 kills, while sophomore middle hitter Adrienne Young tied Fijalkowski with 11 digs for the Blue Jays. Sophomore setter Amanda Lewis led all players with 44 assists for Johns Hopkins, who improve to 12-12 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. Senior middle hitter Nanna Kozemchak (Falls Church, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) led the Shorewomen (6-17, 2-6 CC) with a match-high 14 digs. Junior outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) registered a team-high 14 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Chelsea Crum had nine kills and nine digs. Freshman setter Caitlin Ward (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity) dished 37 assists. Sophomore libero Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) chalked up 11 digs. Washington College returns to action on Saturday, October 21, with a tri-match at Dickinson. At noon, the Shorewomen take on Dickinson in conference action and then a 2 p.m. non-conference tilt against Gwynedd-Mercy. |
