Swarthmore Sweeps Shorewomen
O'Brien Tallies 8 Kills, 16 Digs

SWARTHMORE, PA -- Host Swarthmore College posted a 30-21, 30-23, 30-23 Centennial Conference volleyball win over visiting Washington College this evening in Swarthmore, PA. The Shorewomen fell to 10-16 overall and 2-7 in conference play with the loss.

Sophomore outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) totaled team highs of eight kills and 16 digs. Senior middle hitter Marcie McConville (Westminster, MD/Westminster) added seven kills and two aces, while senior outside hitter Lauren Ford (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) tallied five kills and a team-high three blocks. Senior outside hitter Abigail Benson (New London, PA/Avon Grove) contributed 10 digs and four kills. Freshman setter Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) added 24 assists and 12 digs.

The Shorewomen close out their 2005 season with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference match Friday night at Muhlenberg.
