11, 2005 BRYN MAWR, PA -- Visiting Washington College bounced back after losing the opening game of the match to defeat host Bryn Mawr, 32-34, 30-25, 30-23, 30-27, in a Centennial Conference volleyball match this evening. The Shorewomen improved to 8-13 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the win, while the Owls slipped to 5-13 and 1-4. Sophomore outside hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) tallied 13 kills and 17 digs in the victory, while freshman setter Arielle Brown (Merion, PA/Lower Merion) contributed 46 assists and 16 digs. Senior middle hitter Marcie McConville (Westminster, MD/Westminster) added 10 kills, four solo blocks, and four assisted blocks. Senior outside hitter Abigail Benson (New London, PA/Avon Grove) pounded down a team-high 14 kills, while senior outside hitter Lauren Ford (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) and junior middle hitter Nanna Kozemchak (Falls Church, VA/St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) recorded 10 kills each. The Shorewomen return to action Saturday with a pair of home matches - a 1:00 p.m. Centennial Conference match against Ursinus, followed by a non-conference match against first-year program Wesley. |
