October 23, 2004 CARLISLE, PA -- Host Dickinson College swept visiting Washington College in three games in a Centennial Conference volleyball match this afternoon in Carlisle, PA. Game scores were 30-26, 30-26, 30-22. The Red Devils improved to 15-8 overall and 6-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shorewomen slipped to 14-13 and 3-5. Freshman middle hitter Katherine O'Brien (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) pounded down a team-high nine kills against two errors in 25 attempts for the Shorewomen. O'Brien also recorded four block assists and six digs in the loss. Sophomore setter Laura Shand (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) tallied a team-high 29 assists, while junior middle hitter Marcie McConville (Westminster, MD/Westminster) paced Washington in both digs and blocks with eight digs and five block assists. Junior outside hitter Lauren Ford (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) added eight kills and four block assists. The Shorewomen are back in action Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Centennial Conference home match against Franklin & Marshall. |
