King's Wins Penny Fall Invitational
WC's Greenback Named All-Tournament
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The King's College volleyball
team captured its second tournament championship in three years at the
Washington College Penny Fall Invitational this weekend in Chestertown.
The Monarchs, now 18-0 on the season, defeated Division II Pitt-Johnstown,
30-27, 30-24, 30-27 in the championship match.
King's won the tournament title in 2000,
but lost in three games to Pitt-Johnstown in last year's championship
match. The Monarchs did not lose a single game in six matches this weekend
en route to the title. King's outside hitter Jessica McVey was
named Tournament MVP.
Mary Washington won the third-place match,
32-30, 31-29, 30-27, over Gallaudet.

Washington College Match Summaries
King's 3, Washington College 0 (30-12,
30-19, 30-18)
The Shorewomen dropped their opening match of the tournament to King's
in three games. Senior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton
Keough) recorded 13 assists in the match. Freshman middle hitter
Marcie McConville (Westminster, MD/Westminster) had a team-high
eight kills, while sophomore outside hitter Laura Greenback (Riva,
MD/South River), named to the All-Tournament team, added seven kills.
Freshman outside hitter Abby Benson (Avon Grove, PA/Avon Grove) served
four aces. WC

The Shorewomen played their first of two matches against Mary Washington
Friday night. Greenback finished with 10 kills and 10 digs in the loss,
while Benson tallied nine kills, nine digs, and three service aces.
Milauskas put up 15 assists and served four aces. Junior setter Katie
Orga (Wilmington, DE/Ursuline Academy) added 10 assists. WC

Benson finished with six kills and 10 digs in the Shorewomen's second
match against the Eagles. Junior defensive specialist Lindsay Tegeler
(Baltimore, MD/Mt. Carmel) scooped out 17 digs, while Greenback
served three aces. Milauskas tallied nine assists. WC
