WC Defeats Hood in Four Games
McConville Hits .430 in Victory

FREDERICK, MD -- The Washington College volleyball team rallied after dropping the opening game to defeat host Hood College, 25-30, 30-16, 30-18, 30-20, tonight in Frederick, MD. Freshman middle hitter Marcie McConville (Westminster, MD/Westminster) finished with 10 kills and hit .430 in the win for the Shorewomen (3-10).

Freshman outside hitter Abby Benson (Avon Grove, PA/Avon Grove) turned in a solid all-around performance, recording seven kills, scooping out 17 digs, and serving four aces. Sophomore outside hitter Laura Greenback (Riva, MD/South River) contributed eight kills, while senior middle hitter Katie Froning (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) tallied seven. Senior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) put up 16 assists, while junior setter Katie Orga (Wilmington, DE/Ursuline Academy) added 13.

The Shorewomen will host the Penny Fall Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
