WC Finishes Season at Elizabethtown
Greenback Tallies 19 kills, 31 Digs Against Jays
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- The Washington College
Shorewomen finished their 2002 season at the Blue Jay Classic, hosted
by Elizabethtown College, yesterday and today. The Shorewomen dropped
four matches at the event and finish the season with a record of 5-28.
Elizabethtown 3, Washington College 0 (30-21, 30-21, 30-25)
The Shorewomen hit .258 as a team in the match. Sophomore outside hitter
Laura Greenback (Riva, MD/South River) finished with nine kills,
while senior middle hitter Katie Froning (Kennett Square, PA/Kennett)
tallied seven. Senior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton
Keough) had a team-high 14 digs, while freshman outside hitter Abby
Benson (Avon Grove, PA/Avon Grove) finished with 11 and junior defensive
specialist Lindsay Tegeler (Baltimore, MD/Mt. Carmel) had ten.
Junior setter Katie Orga (Wilmington, DE/Ursuline Academy) contributed
13 assists. WC

Susquehanna 3, Washington College 0 (30-24, 30-22, 30-18)
Greenback again finished with nine kills and freshman outside hitter
Lauren Ford (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) added seven. Benson led
the Shorewomen in digs with 12, while Orga finished with 10. Milauskas
turned in a team-high 11 assists. WC

Elizabethtown 3, Washington College 1 (30-21, 30-21, 25-30, 30-20)
Greenback turned in Washington College season-highs of 19 kills and
31 digs as the Shorewomen took the host Blue Jays to four games. Greenback's
31 digs were also a career-high. Milauskas had a WC season-high 24 assists
and added 18 digs, while Orga had 15 assists and 13 digs. Tegeler finished
with 19 digs and Benson tallied 14. WC

Moravian 3, Washington College 0 (30-22,
30-20, 30-20)
Froning and senior middle hitter Rebekah Beckett (Cordova, AK/Cordova)
each had two solo blocks and one assisted block against Moravian.
Greenback finished with 18 digs, while Tegeler had 15. Benson had a
team-high seven kills. WC
STATS
The Shorewomen's five wins this season were
their most in a season since 1997, when they won six matches.
