26, 2001 CHESTERTOWN, MD -- The Washington College volleyball team dropped a 30-14, 30-18, 30-23 Centennial Conference home match to Ursinus College tonight at Cain Gym. The Shorewomen (0-15 overall, 0-3 Centennial Conference) will host the eight-team Washington College Invitational Friday and Saturday. The Shorewomen's latest lead in any of the three games came in the second game, when they went up 13-11. The Bears responded by scoring 17 of the next 20 points to take control of the game. Ursinus freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist Amanda Morello (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) served seven consecutive points during that run. After falling in a 9-2 hole to start the third match, the Shorewomen tried to rally but never cut the lead to less than three. Freshman outside hitter Laura Greenback tallied a team-high eight kills for the Shorewomen. Junior setter Amy Milauskas (Ellicott City, MD/Seton Keough) added 15 assists. The WC Invitational begins Friday at 5:00 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9:00 a.m. |
